Internal wall putty powder is divided into ordinary putty powder and water-resistant putty powder, mainly due to the addition of calcium hydroxide (calcium hydroxide).
The formulation of water-resistant sub-powder includes calcium carbonate, calcium hydroxide, HPMC, VAE, or polyvinyl alcohol adhesive powder PVA(model 2488). Among them, calcium hydroxide mainly plays a role in strength and also has water resistance; calcium bicarbonate mainly serves as a filler; HPMC has a water retention and thickening effect; and latex powder improves the toughness and plasticity of construction.
In the process of using water-resistant putty powder for interior walls, if the foundation wall is not completely dry or because of the deep grooves left when the wall electrical switches were remodeled before the renovation, it is necessary to use gypsum products to fill them quickly, and then quickly carry out the batch scraping construction of the water-resistant putty for interior walls. However, due to the dampness of the wall or some of the deep grooves, after the construction, there may be a bottom color showing or a gradual yellowing of the damp areas when painting. This is due to the problem of calcium hydroxide. Calcium hydroxide is a strong alkali and will yellow when the wall base is wet. Since most paints are acidic, the strongly alkaline putty powder will neutralize the paint, resulting in the paint not covering the substrate in this area.
Wall putty dry mixing plant, wall putty production plant and wall putty powder making machine are all capable of producing different kinds of interior and exterior wall putty powder. Customers can also use one plant for multiple purposes as the formulas are mostly the same without the sand ingredient. However, carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) react adversely with calcium hydroxide to some extent.
