Putty powder is mainly divided into three categories: internal wall putty powder, external wall putty powder, and special types of putty powder. Among them, special types include gypsum bonding agents and waterproof putty powder (two-component).
Internal wall putty powder can be categorized into ordinary putty powder and water-resistant putty powder, while external wall putty powder includes ordinary-type external wall putty powder and flexible external wall putty powder.
Putty is a thin layer of material used for leveling walls and is applied and scraped onto rough wall materials, such as mortar, concrete walls, or plasterboard. The function of putty is to provide a level base for the application of architectural latex paints.
Formulation A: mainly used calcium carbonate and talc as the main fillers with the addition of cellulose ether HPMC and dispersible latex powder CMS, where cellulose ether HPMC is a thickening and water retention agent and dispersible latex powder CMS improves the flexibility, plasticity, tensile strength, and resistance to cracking of the putty.
Summary: The cellulose used in the two formulations is produced by different processes and has different properties, viscosities, and costs.
There are no obvious advantages or disadvantages to the two formulations, but rather they should be selected according to the production needs of different regions. For heavy calcium carbonate, usually made from calcite, marble, or limestone grinding, its fineness should be between 230 mesh and 700 mesh, with fineness, whiteness, and slipperiness being the main evaluation indicators. Due to differences in mines, ores, and crushing equipment, sometimes Formulation B is more widely applicable. However, from the point of view of putty quality, Formulation A is more advantageous.
Formulation B: mainly used calcium carbonate (i.e., bicarbonate) with a small amount of bentonite, and selected auxiliary materials including CMC cellulosic nanoparticles, pre-gelatinized starch, and dispersible latex powder. the addition of bentonite could improve the spreadability and flowability of the putty. Regarding CMC type cellulose na, also known as carboxymethyl cellulose, is a kind of cellulose produced by acid-base reaction.
We offer wall putty manufacturing machine and wall putty production line with different configurations according to production capacity. Both internal and external wall putty powder equipment and simple putty powder equipment are available, which can be directly filled into bags by using a horizontal mixer, screw conveyor, or bucket elevator outlet.
The putty powder production line adds finished product storage and an automatic measuring and packaging machine, which adopts the valve bag filling machine to improve the degree of automation and output. The putty powder equipment also has an automatic putty powder production line with fully automatic dosing, which can produce up to 10-40 tons per hour, with a variety of specifications to choose from.
To summarize, it is distinguished by the capacity of putty powder equipment, the automation degree of the putty powder production line, and the packaging form of putty powder equipment. There are two kinds of packaging forms: open pocket and valve pocket. As there are many kinds of putty powder, we don’t recommend using a putty powder production line to produce multiple models, because the residue of raw materials will affect the quality of the next model of putty powder. For putty powder equipment, the simple stand-alone version can easily switch between different formulas.
